Been a long time..lots to share

Okay, okay, I am going to try and get better at posting every time I get a few layouts done instead of slamming a bunch in one post.  It's been a bit hectic with working and putting our house up for sale, I can't wait till all the waiting and paperwork is done so we can start house hunting.  That is the only part of selling, packing, moving, etc. I look forward to, well except actually being settled in a new place with all our "stuff" put away!! lol
Anyhow, here are some layouts I have finished since my last post, most done at the SCRAPBOOK EXPO I went to with my MOM, which is always a really fun time.

Scrapbook Expo Results

I am finally getting around to posting the layouts I have completed since my last post.  I got a total of 9 layouts done (9 1/2 if you count the one on my desk that is almost finished, lol)  Thanks to going to the Anaheim Scrapbook Expo with my Mom I was able to get these done.  Since I started working full time away from my home it seems that I don't have as much time to scrapbook.  Fear not, I will still make time for scrapbooking because it is my favorite thing to do, I just have to find new ways to sneak in time to do it :).

Layout Jackpot

I know, I know, I can't believe it myself, a week and a half after my last post and I have 9 more layouts to share!!!  I have been in the scrappy mood which is a good thing since I am still working on pictures from 2014.  I don't mind being behind in my scrapping, that's just how I roll but I am a little farther behind than I want to be.

This first one was fun putting together, I used some pocket page cards and added to each little square with all sorts of doo dads.  Everything was glued down in a grid pattern since I don't actually use those pre-made pocket page protectors.

Used alot of my chipboard pieces on this one but still have a giant zip
lock full for future layouts!  I actually forgot I had those little houses until I started digging thru the baggie,  worked our perfectly I think.

The next two layouts I had to think a little out of the box.  I had bought those two big layered laser die cut titles from the Scrapbook Expo last year knowing I had these pictures to scrap.  Trying to work out how to do a layout when your title is already done was a little backwards to me.

It's has been awhile since I have done a baby layout!  Actually whipped out the sewing machine for that little touch of special on this one.

With lots of  kids/grandkids, these kind of layouts happen every year, it is getting interesting trying to come up with new ways to showcase "first day of school" photos!

I just absolutely love this picture and tried to make my layout an extension of the picture.  I think it worked out well.

Yayyyyyy, I got to use flowers!

And since I had all those flowers out and scattered everywhere...
I added a bunch to this one, as well as feathers, butterflies, ribbon and lots of glitter!

Thanks for checking out my layouts, hopefully I will be back next week with another batch!

I tried everything :)

Yep, I tried using all kinds of styles (clean & simple, straight & linear, messy, crooked, little embellishments, lots of embellishments, handwriting and typing, etc., you get the idea)  I also used various layout designs: a few are what I came up with myself, some are from sketches I see while cruising the internet and I also used a page kit and a layout I made at the Scrapbook Expo probably 3 years ago but it was waiting for just the right pictures!   I even used my cricut on almost every layout!!

This first one was soooooooo simple, the paper already came with the designed background like the swirls, words and birds on it, I simply added some dotted washi tape, cut out toothless, the tag and the tooth on my circuit and that was it.

This was the page made in a class at the Expo, it was a two page layout with the words FRIENDS on the opposite page, I didn't use that side (yet, lol)  Added some journaling in the little squares and done!

This was a complete page kit from Quick Quotes, it was a two page spread but I only needed one page since I only had 2 pictures so the other half went back into my stash to be used at a later time.  I added the title by cutting the word "fish" from a picture of the fish the boys caught.

Don't you just love when a layout idea just instantly "pops" into your head?  That is what happened with this layout, I saw the wallpaper boarder in the picture and just knew that I wanted the entire page to resemble it.  I love how the little tag cut out on my cricut turned out.

This layout challenged me!!!!  I used a sketch I saw and tried to recreate it, ugh, it is so hard for me to do anything that is not straight!!!!  I cut a bunch of strips of paper after I had the pictures laid out and just kept gluing them down, ha ha.

I like the simplicity of this layout, and I also am very happy that I found those little horses to cut out on my cricut, they fit the layout perfectly.

I really made a mess and had fun on this layout.  I have to give credit to Tara, this is her blog:  http://kryptonite72-rambles.blogspot.com/2016/02/numbers.html  for the idea on this one.  She did a layout on her blog where she tried to use up some old numbers and when I saw it I thought "hmmmm, I have lots of leftover thicker numbers I need to use up", so I did!!  Stuck down all my leftover numbers until I covered the entire page then covered it all with white gesso.  Once it all dried I had a great messy time building my page.

And last but not least, this was also a page kit from quick quotes, it was intended to be a "travel" layout but I didn't use the title that came with the kit, I cut the title with my cricut, covered up the little tag that had travel tidbits on them with journaling and an embellishment and that was it.

In the Scrappy Mood

Yep, I have been in a Scrappy mood lately, I hope it never leaves me! :)
I am finding that it is way easier to stay on my diet if I stay busy, so with scrapping and getting my walking in it keeps me from munching on all the bad stuff, win, win.  (Besides...I am so close to my ultimate "smaller than I have ever been" weight, my goal is in sight!)

This is a mini book of Mom and I and our Scrapbook Expo adventure for 2014.  We attended two Expos and had a blast at both of them.  Every year we make a mini album of our Expo girl's weekend away.

As you can see in this picture, 2014 was our 9th year attending and our 9th mini book.

And of course I have to also do a few layouts for the scrapbook as well.

You can't really tell in the above picture but I used some waterfall protectors and attached a bunch of pictures to the front of the page protector.  Here is a better picture of that:

And then a two page spread with all the details of crops, classes, etc we did while there.

This next layout reminds me of how behind I am in my scrapbooking, not only has my Daughter-in-Law had the baby (My Grandson Drew) but he is over a year old now!!!!

New Year, New Goals, New Layouts!

My scrapping got somewhat pushed aside last year so I have started this new year with a bang.  Set a pretty big layout goal this year and I intend to complete it :)
That being said, here are the layouts I have completed so far.  I am trying to use my Cricut more and more and am finding the more I use it the easier it gets and am finding some pretty cool images and fonts I really like.  Also, before I start any layout I am digging thru my stash and trying to use up bits and pieces that I have hoarded for years.

On this layout I decided to try and use one of those project life cards (my mom and I have a ton of them)  I used one on the left side of this layout and just added names and a date to it.

This one is still lacking something, I just can't figure out what so after looking at it for 3 or 4 days just decided to call it done and move on, lol

I think this one is a personal favorite.  I threw all kinds of embellishments on it and I have to say I really like how it turned out.

Used up some really old bling and chipboard pieces on this one.  Also had fun with my cricut cutting the graduation embellishments.

This layouts was sooooo easy I feel like I cheated!  Used a pre-done layout from the Close to my Heart Artbooking cartridge on my Cricut, added a few wood embellishments I colored with my Spectrum Noir pens and that was about it.

I usually have a hard time with two page layouts but this one came together pretty quick.  I used a sketch I found on Cheryl Even's blog.

This last one was fun and easy (I like that)  Used some black paint on the two corners, layered a bunch of project life cards behind my picture and stuck on some letter stickers for my Grandson's names and the date.
